Esteban Kelly

Esteban Kelly is a board and staff member at Mariposa Food Co-op (based in Philadelphia), a  board member of the National Cooperative Business Alliance and North American Students of Cooperation, and a former board member of the U.S. Federation of Worker Cooperatives. In addition to co-op organizing, he is pursuing a doctoral degree in Cultural Anthropology at the City University of New York Graduate Center, where he is studying how urbanization in Brazil mobilizes land, housing, and social movements around conflicting ideologies of space (which tend to displace the poor). As an active community organizer in West Philadelphia, Esteban works with Philly Stands Up on sexual assault issues, the Philly Dudes Collective on gender analysis and male accountability, and the Life Center Association community land trust, where he lives with his partner and friends.
